How We Test Electronics

Our Electronics Testing Process

At Longfield Hospice Care, we want you to shop with confidence when purchasing electrical and electronic items from our online store.

Safety First - PAT Tested

Where applicable, all electrical items are Portable Appliance Tested (PAT tested) before being offered for sale. This helps us verify that the item meets basic electrical safety requirements at the time of testing.

Function Tested

As part of our listing process, we also carry out practical function testing wherever possible. Our team checks the item's key features and operation to confirm that it is working as expected before it is listed for sale.
Examples of checks may include:
  • Powering the item on and off
  • Testing main functions and controls
  • Checking displays, buttons, ports, and connections where applicable
  • Verifying that accessories included with the item are present and usable

When We Cannot Fully Test an Item

Due to the wide variety of donated goods we receive, there are occasions when we are unable to fully test an item. This may be because:
  • Specialist equipment is required
  • Necessary accessories or cables are unavailable
  • The full functionality cannot be verified in our testing environment
In these cases, we will clearly state this within the item's description so you can make an informed purchasing decision.

Honest and Accurate Listings

We aim to provide clear and accurate descriptions for all items we sell. Any known faults, limitations, missing accessories, or untested features will be disclosed in the product listing wherever identified.
