This charming book, published to celebrate the opening of The Dorchester in London in 1931, is a satirical romance taking place in Mayfair in the 1920s. Author Michael Arlen was a well-known a London society figure. Cecil Beaton provided the colourful illustrations. The second half is a description of the building and interiors of the new Dorchester by the Hotel's developers Sir Francis Towle and Sir Malcolm McAlpine.
In nice fresh clean condition inside with a few faint foxing spots and light smudge marks All six colour plates checked and in nice shape. Some have minor creases around edges and in centre fold. Motif to front intact.
