Both vases feature hand-finished detailing combined with spongeware decoration in warm shades of orange, brown and blue on a cream ground. The ceramic body is particularly fine and translucent, allowing light to pass through when held up, indicative of quality production. Each vase carries the number 17 to the base and displays complementary decoration whilst retaining its own individual maritime scene.
