A superb vintage British marine navigation instrument supplied with its original Sestrel Junior Compass presentation/storage box and mounting accessories. The Junior was designed as a versatile compact compass for small craft including sailing dinghies, rowing boats, canoes and small fishing craft. The interchangeable accessories allow the compass to be configured for handheld use or mounted aboard a vessel. The mounting components and handle also remain in great cosmetic condition with only minor age-related signs of use. The original box has substantial age and storage wear, including staining, marks, discolouration, rubbing, edge wear and general deterioration to the printed finish. Despite this, the original graphics, Sestrel branding and Henry Browne & Son Ltd details remain clearly visible and the box adds considerably to the character and completeness of the set.
